Unique Botanical-Extraction Technology.

Enrichment of Plant Extracts.

Our botanicals are extracted by a unique technology that uses macroporous resin chromatography, an innovative technology that purifies and enriches the ingredients in the extracts. The unique extraction technology removes organic salts, heavy metals and large quantities of starch.

The macroporous resin chromatography is based on various resins with different porous structure parameters (pore size, pore ratio, and specific surface areas) and diverse polarities (non-polarity, weak polarity, medium polarity and strong polarity).

Our Botanical Extracts Benefits

  • Enhances the biological activity of the extract
  • Removes organic salts, heavy metals and starch
  • Synergism between the botanical extracts
  • Concentrated extracts
  • Rigorous quality-control
  • Proven safety profile

Kamedis unique conditions for macro-porous resin chromatography extraction result in high levels of active ingredients and a significantly lower percentage of residues. The Kamedis technology facilitates a superior consistency between batches and a strong biological effect of the enriched herbal extracts.

Kamedis established HPLC-based methods for measuring the concentration of active ingredients in each herbal extract. The values are part of the extract specifications. Figure 1 depicts a representative chemical profile of Rheum palmatum extract. The active ingredients in the extract are Antraquinones (Emodin, Rhein, Aloe-emodin) which serve as biomarkers for standardization and optimization of extraction procedure.

The below Figure 2 shows a significantly increased, 3.8-fold, percentage of active ingredients (Anthraquinones) in Rheum palmatum (Rhubarb) extract after resin chromatography as compared to non-separated extract.

The next Figure 3 demonstrates the impact of Kamedis resin chromatography extraction technology on the biological activity of medicinal herb. Extracts were evaluated for their pro-inflammatory cytokine inhibition activity before and after resin chromatography. These results are typical and show the ability of the enrichment technology to elevate significantly the biological activity of herbal extracts.
